Eat Well To Stay Younger
There are lots of foods, which when in their natural state contain anti-oxidants which stave off free radicals found in the human body. Free radicals affect cells in our body and over time contributes to how quickly we age.
Exposure to these free radicals is inevitable since they’re formed by natural activity in our bodies. However, this can be changed. Doing away with challenging habits such as consuming processed foods, alcohol consumption or caffeine or smoking is a great start. Supplying the body with lots of fresh fruit and veggies offers essential vitamins and free radical fighting anti-oxidants. The anti-oxidants break up the free radicals by neutralizing them in our bodies.
Some of the natural supplements that are thought to be beneficial in altering the aging process to our advantage consist of omega-3 fatty acids, beta carotene, and vitamins A, C and E. By including these natural ingredients into your diet, along with drinking plenty of water and exercising you can play a personal role in the anti-aging process. With regards to exercises, one activity which I generally recommend is exercices aquagym (French article) since it can be done by individuals from different background.
Some foods that contain these anti-aging ingredients are the following.
#1-Flax Seeds, walnuts, fresh water fish, cabbage, and Brussels sprouts have crucial omega-3 fatty acids.
#2- Fruits are full of vitamins A and C, two of the most effective anti-oxidants there are. With the plethora of fruits available, it is an easy task to fit them into your day. Grab a bit of fruit on the go. It is wrapped in its own package, sweet and prepared to eat. Or have a fresh fruit salad as a meal or for a delicious dessert.
#3- Do not forget the tomatoes. Also a fruit, they have the same superb vitamins A and C. Tomatoes can be purchased all year round and can be added to soups, use into sauces, cut up for a sandwich or thrown in a salad. With this flexibility, it’s an easy task to incorporate them into your diet.
#4-Eat your greens. Leafy green vegetables such as spinach, kale, collard greens and broccoli are full of not just vitamins A and C, but vitamin E and beta carotene as well. With lots of anti-oxidant power, you will reduce the effects of those free radicals very quickly. Greens may be served by themselves, in a salad, steamed or put into a delicious soup.
A number of other foods have healing properties that play an important role in slowing aging as well. Included in this are apple cider vinegar, blueberries, cranberries, garlic, green tea, peppermint, milk thistle, chamomile, alfalfa and citrus fruits.
Although none of these foods are the “Fountain of Youth”, including them on a regular basis as part of a balanced diet can reduce the toll time takes on your body.
The entire process of aging is normal. There’s no stopping it, just slowing it down or speeding it up. It is only you who can choose which route you will take.
